IA-assisted translations


IAI-assisted translation is not the same as machine translation (MT). This process involves three key steps: the translation memory server, the AI model, and human post-editing. 

AI steps in to provide translations where the translation memory offers none. Post-editing ensures that the translations proposed by AI align with the domain and context of the documents.
The time, precision, and cost savings achieved through this process are significant and cannot be overlooked in a highly competitive environment.



AI-Assisted Video Transcription


This process, once highly time-consuming, now takes just a few minutes with remarkable accuracy. It involves extracting the audio track from a video and converting the sound signals into text. Continuously enhanced software libraries enable this operation with over 99% accuracy.
However, human intervention is still necessary to ensure absolute precision.

AI-Assisted Text-to-Speech Synthesis


Once the audio track is extracted from the video and converted into text, it undergoes text-to-speech synthesis to generate a new audio track in as many languages as needed. The synthesis relies on hundreds of synthetic voices stored in available software libraries.
If needed, a custom synthetic voice can be created for the client by training the text-to-speech model using real voice samples. However, for presentation and training videos, which are the primary use cases for this process, there is rarely a need for client-specific voices.
Additionally, text-to-speech synthesis is not random. It is controlled by a robust modeling language called SSML (Speech Synthesis Markup Language), which manages pauses, intonations, and many other details of the audio output.

AI-Assisted Subtitling


 
We no longer recommend subtitling videos since the technique of dubbing has become widely available and reliable, thanks to AI-assisted text-to-speech synthesis. However, subtitling remains available and is still offered to clients who prefer it.
The subtitling process also begins with extracting the video’s audio track and converting it into text. Software libraries then segment the text into subtitle blocks. Segmentation is controlled by instructions in an ASS file, which defines breaks, formatting, timelines, and other relevant details.
Finally, the subtitles are embedded into the video using dedicated software libraries.

AI-Assisted Video Dubbing

 
Video dubbing involves replacing one audio track with another, such as replacing French audio with English audio.
The dubbing process includes all the steps of audio extraction, text conversion, translation, and text-to-speech synthesis in another language.
Adjustments to the audio track are made during text-to-speech synthesis using SSML, so at this stage, the new audio track is simply inserted into the video track.
Given the impact of videos and the attractive costs made possible by AI-assisted dubbing techniques, we always recommend this process over simple subtitling.
